Session 2 -- Analysis and Discussion of Book -- November 18, 2003

The second session allowed the students to analyze and discuss the book. Students had a chance to share their favourite passages from the book as well as their reason for choosing the passage.

The first break out session posed questions to students:
"Japanese students were very interested in Hana's story even though they were not involved. Give 4 or 5 reason why they were so interested"
"Should stories like Hana's Suitcase be included in the school curriculum all over the world?"

The students worked in groups with their teachers and then shared their responses with the other schools.

The second break out session allowed students to develop questions for the expert mentors which would be present during Session 3.
