Hello,
We hope you will be interested in participating in our grade 7 Geography
project! We would like to learn more about you and we need your help.
If you are interested our class will will send you a photo travel
log starting in September.
You will simply have to send us an email with your address and we
will send a log to you as soon as we can. When you receive a log we
ask that you:
First.........Write the date in the travel log.
Second....Include anything visual to help my students understand about
where you live, a postcard, photo or phamplets.
Third.......Write short captions to go with the photos since long
text will not be appreciated. A picture can say a thousand words.
Fourth....Send us a picture postcard or email explaining that you
have received the travel log. Indicate the student name that owns
the log you have in your possession.
You can tell us a little about the area on the postcard or email us
if you like. This way we can track the places that the logs travel
to on our classroom map.
Finally.....Please send the log to a conscientious friend or relative
who would enjoy sharing information about his/her community, city
or town with children who are eagerly awaiting a reply. This is a
valuable learning experience for the children in my class as they
continue to learn about the world in which we live.
We need to receive our final logs back in Kangiqsualujjuaq, Quebec
by April 15 so we can share them with the other children in our class.
If you receive this travel log around March 15 please consider yourself
the last person and mail it back to the address below.
Sincerely,
Anne Lanteigne

Many
schools have been involved in our project. Let me name two of them.
We did a videoconference with Bill Peel's students from Hong Kong
Canadian International School. Since then our students have exchanged
numerous messages with them.
Another
far away group who participated in our project are Sebastian Augustyniak's
students from Seoul American High School in Seoul, Korea. They completed
our travel logbook and returned it to us. Thanks to all the others
who participated in our "Countries around the World" project!
