First, we mixed the lard and warm water together.

We measured the yeast and liquid.

The liquid and yeast.
are ready to rise.

Ten minutes later the yeast
rose!

In another bowl we measured the flour.

We made a
hole in the center
of the flour and then added the yeast and liquid.

Anne taught us how to knead.

Jeannie kneaded the dough.

Minnie and Sharon kneaded too.

After kneading we put the
rolled dough
into a bowl to rise.

We covered the bowl
with a clean cloth.

Wow, did the dough ever rise!
Look at it now!

Anne showed the class how to roll out the dough.

Everyone had a chance to
roll out the dough.

Rolling the dough was fun

Watch us roll up the dough!

A close-up of a
rolled-up rectangle.

Greasing the pan is important so the bread doesn't stick.

We cut slits into the dough.

Bread rising!

The loaves were all ready to rise in the bread oven.
We had to cover them.

It smelled so good while it cooked
at 350 F.

We had fun cooking today!

Yummy bread!
Let's eat......
