Our
Site
Ulluriaq (Formely Satuumavik) School
of Kangiqsualujjuaq
Our site is going through a major
this year. We are adding menus in the banner at the top of
the main pages. We also have a new project shaping up called
Connecting Cultures which adds to our other big website project
of two years ago called Inuit Life in Nunavik.
Thanks to our school board webmaster, Paul
Rombough for the new look of our web site.
This site started in the winter of
1997 with just a few pages. By 1998, it contained about 40
pages in English and about the same in French. We try to provide
general information about the village of Kangiqsualujjuaq
as well as specific student projects particularly related
to computers and internet.
The first pages on the Web site (old
old stuff now)
Kangiqsualujjuaq
- Our Village: The information
contained in these pages was first published in a booklet
put together the the 1996/97 Class of Grade
4/5 students helped by their
teacher, Mark Brazeau. The information was then converted
to HTML format by the secondary level students helped by their
computer class teacher, Alain Rochefort.
Riddles:
This is a project put together in 1997/98 by our English language
teacher, Harvey Ginter and the secondary level English students
of our school. The riddles project is still being developed
and more pages will be added.
Community
Magazine: Content from 1996/97
schoolyear. This magazine was also distributed in printed
form in the community. The content was developed in language
classes and the magazine was produced during the desktop publishing
class.
